Además Estados Unidos, con esta demostración, pretende reactivar la carrera armamentística, pues todo país que tenga satélites tendrá que desarrollar sistemas en tierra, en órbita, o ambos, para defender sus satélites y al tiempo quien ha desarrollado los sistemas de ataque a satélites tendrá que hacer sistemas que puedan defender a sus atacantes, o hacer a estos últimos más perfeccionados.

Ni Rusia, si China, de Japón, ni Irán, ni Francia, ni Gran Bretaña, ni México, ni la Unión Europea, ni Corea del Norte, ni Australia, ni Israel, ni Argentina, ni Brasil, ni Cuba, ni Tanzania, ni España, nadie hasta ahora había puesto armamento en el espacio, no lo habían empleado allí.
